About Shunkhlai Group

With a 30-year history, Shunkhlai Group operates over 30 companies across eight sectors, including production, trade, and technology. Collaborating with more than 10,000 domestic suppliers and partners, and employing 7,500 full-time staff, we operate in all 21 provinces of Mongolia, contributing significantly to the nation's social and economic development. In 1990, Mongolia held its first democratic elections, leading to the adoption of a new constitution in 1992, thus establishing a nation where democracy and human rights are fully implemented. This transition from a centrally planned economy to a market economy has enabled Mongolia to align with developed countries worldwide. Fundamental human rights and freedoms—such as freedom of speech, expression, religion, and international travel—have been embraced, alongside key market economy principles like private property ownership and the liberalization of the private sector. As one of Mongolia’s first private enterprises, Shunkhlai Group was founded in 1993, beginning with car warranty repair services. Since then, the company has expanded its reach, evolving into a diversified business group with strong domestic and international partnerships.

Shunkhlai LLC has grown into a major player in Mongolia’s petroleum industry, operating 99 gas stations, eight petroleum storage facilities, and a dedicated transport and distribution network. The company also maintains a state-accredited laboratory to ensure quality and safety. Since entering the wholesale market in 1996, Shunkhlai has become one of the country’s most competitive fuel providers. APU JSC, founded in 1924, is one of Mongolia’s oldest and most respected companies. As a leader in the beverage sector, APU produces over 450 types of liquid food products, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, fruit juices, dairy products, and bottled water. The company exports to Russia, China, Poland, South Korea, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, the USA, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Italy, and Switzerland, making it one of Mongolia’s most internationally recognized brands. Through Skytel LLC and Media Group LLC, Shunkhlai Group is a leader in mobile communications, IPTV services, and media production. By 2022, Skytel held a 20 percent share of Mongolia’s mobile market and a 30 percent share of the IPTV market, solidifying its position as a key player in digital entertainment and communication.

Shunkhlai Group is a key player in Mongolia’s retail and automotive sectors. In 2021, Shunkhlai Holding, APU JSC, and GS Retail from South Korea established Digital Concept Company as the master franchisee of GS25 in Mongolia. The company launched the country’s first GS25 convenience stores, providing high-quality products and services with a focus on convenience and customer experience. Today, Digital Concept operates 250 GS25 branches, with plans to expand to 700 locations within four years. Mongolia Motors Group continues Shunkhlai’s legacy in automotive sales and warranty services. The company is the official distributor of Hyundai and Kia vehicles, offering sales, servicing, and repair solutions. The group has also strengthened its presence in logistics and financial services. Suntrans Logistics LLC, established in 2012, is a leading international transport and logistics provider, managing 30,000 tons of cargo annually and ensuring efficient supply chain operations. GSB Capital, a leader in Mongolia’s non-bank financial sector, integrates advanced digital banking solutions with traditional financial services. With assets reaching 179 billion MNT in 2022, it is one of Shunkhlai Group’s fastest-growing businesses.

Digital transformation is a key driver of Mongolia’s economic growth, and Shunkhlai Group is committed to expanding its technology investments, particularly in data centers, digital platforms, and automation.
