Skytel LLC
Skytel Group is a group company providing comprehensive information technology services in Mongolia. Established in 1999 as the country's second telecom operator, Skytel Group is ranked among the TOP 100 companies in terms of employee count, sales revenue, and taxes paid to the state.
Today, Skytel Group offers a full range of mobile communication services, mobile broadband Internet, IPTV services, and OTT video streaming services. It also owns 50% of Skynetworks, a national fiber optic internet operator. As of 2022, Skytel Group holds a significant position in the market, occupying one-third of the Internet IPTV service market and 20% of Mongolia's total mobile communications market.
Initially a joint venture between Mongolia and Korea, Skytel began operations on March 25, 1999. In 2010, the company’s shares previously owned by the Korean side were acquired by large Mongolian groups—Altai Holding and Shunkhlai Holding—transforming it into a 100% Mongolian-owned company.
Skytel Group currently serves more than 800,000 mobile phone users and over 100,000 IPTV, internet, and landline telephone customers across Mongolia through a network of 65 branches and over 7,000 contracted distributors. Skytel's roaming services extend to more than 240 countries worldwide.
